Love.

Hello:)

I haven't written in a while, my appologies. School has been crazy busy and my life here at APU is flying by! This last week I felt alive again. Some amazing guys from the Dominican Republic came to APU. My good friend Kalie had worked with them while she was down there working with a medical clinic. Almost all of the guys are translators between the doctors or medical teams and the people. And I learned a lot from them. They don't take their resources for granted. They never complain when they are given food or say that they are hungry. They know hungry. They see suffering. They find joy where ever they are. And I felt like they had pumped life into my day to day wandering.

I feel like I have been struggling spiritually this semester. I am taking three amazing Bible classes. One I feel like has handed me the Bible in pieces and I need to reconstruct all of my former views and foundations on what I rest my faith on. That same class makes me feel as if I have no idea who God is. The other class I feel like my own calling has been challenged. That teacher is old and wise. I feel as though each week I'm hit with wisdom beyond my understanding and I am left trying to examine myself and my life... bewildered. And the last class, although it teaches some doctrine and theology, focuses on teh love of Jesus. Without this class I don't know how I'd still be standing. Because even though I am questioning everything for the first time.. at the same time.. I feel as if I can stand on the one truth I know. The one thing that hasn't been ripped apart by scholars and mutated into something else.. God is Love. And God calls us to love Him and our neighbor.

So, I realize I know nothing. I am identifiying myself with being like a "sheep without the shephard" wandering around in this thing called life, trying to do my best with my walnut sized brain. But I do know that I am called to love. And for now, that's good for me.

With love,
Paige

Fun outing!

Roommates (Me, Catherine, Kalie, Elli, Holly)

Car on our way to the Cuban Restraunt (then to the beach!)

My new roommate Catherine who transferred from U. of Washington. She is SO awesome! I am loving getting to know her.

Classic jump picture. Water is about 200 yards behind us.

Holly, Kalie and Me. Freezing. Having fun :)

Just wanted to post some pictures of an outing some friends and myself had. We dressed up and went to a Cuban restraunt. They had a live band and it was really an awesome time- and awesome food! I never realized Cuban food was more caribbean, not in any way like Mexican food! My meal was: half chicken with a guava sauce, white rice, black beans and fried plantains. Very good :)

After the Cuban restraunt my car got back on the freeway to go to school then turned around to go to the beach! We were already half way there- why not? So, we had a late night adventure :) Enjoy the pics!

The girls are my roommates. We all get along so well! It's been awesome.

Right now I'm at home for Evie's first birthday party tomorrow! I'll definitely post pictures of that lovely event next week :) It's so great to be able to see everyone. I am so blessed with amazing family!!! I think I talked for a good 3 hours straight tonight to Mom, Dad, and Barbie about what I am learning in school! They're good listeners :)

School has begun

Hello!

A little update on how things are going so far:

Work got a little crazy, with 20 hours, so I lessened those and am hopefully able to balance what I have :) If not, my bosses are all very accomidating and I know I can work things out.

Here are how my classes are going so far:

Business Law: A little intimidating since I'm the only sophomore in the class of upperclassmen. Luckily my professor seems really eager to help us learn and although it's a hard course, he will be very helpful. Still a little nervous about how I will do in this one.

Accounting 1: The only thing that keeps me entertained in this class is my professor's hair that looks like a lion. And my friend Jeremy sometimes entertaines me. Basically, it's accounting. Imagine the FUN! But it doesn't seem too hard so that's good.

The General Epistles: HARD HARD HARD but SOOO GOOD! This class will kick my booty, but it is going to be sooo rewarding. Looking forward to PASSING it!

Christian Life, Faith & Ministry: Havent's started it yet. I have it 3 weekends a semester.

1&2 Samuel: Just decided to stay with this class today. We'll see if I'm alive after this semester :) It's gunna be a hard one.

I am having a really FUN time, despite the work :) My roommate situations are good and I'm loving hanging out with people. Looking forward to making new friendships and leading a freshman girls discipleship group :)

Here's some pics:

The guys upstairs (which we have now named "Heaven" because we always point up in reference to them) made us a FABULOUS dinner of tri tip and mashed potatoes etc etc. Seriously, I'm never cooking for them again because they are SO GOOD! Luckily my friend Kalie had a great idea to make a layered ice cream sundae. It tasted amazing! From the bottom up: crushed Nilla Wafers, cookies 'n' cream ice cream, fudge, bananas, whipped cream, and layered over and over! YUM!

Awesome sunset at the beach:)

Back to school!

Hello family! And the two friends that read this :)

I am back at school! It's hot hot hot down here. I'm having a great time. Mom was here moving me in for a weekend and helped me buy couches, a table, and a tv stand all for $99 at Salvation Army! So with the five girls it's going to be $20 each!

My shower has a mind of it's own. There was a little gas situation at the beginning while Mom was here so we didn't have hot water, but my kind friend Jeremy fixed it for us! Sometimes still I don't get hot water then the next girl does.

Classes start Wednesday and to be honest, I don't really want to do the work. But I'm looking forward to learning new things :) Guess it can't always be summer!

My job at the Registar's office is going well :) I really like the people I work with and am looking forward to getting to know the system even better so I can feel like I can help.

I'll post some pictures of my appartment (which I love!), the beach day I went to for my friend Brian's birthday with his sister Lindsay and our friend Jake who goes to Azusa as well, and pictures of a bonfire I had last night with some of the guys that live above us and my great friend Kalie!

Enjoy:)

August!`

Hello!

SO I'm sick of waiting until I have pictures of San Diego ready to write this! Let me give an update on my life:

New hair! Done by our Spritual formation pastor's wife, Kelli Moore. Love it!

I leave for school Friday, August 22nd with Mom :) She'll be driving back Saturday and I'll start my life [for the next 3 months] in Azusa again! I'm really looking forward to the challenges of learning a new job. I love my boss and the atmosphere, although busy, is really fun in the office. Yey!

The classes I'm signed up for right now, which is subject to change, are:

I&II Samuel (with an amazingly awesome & hard professor!)
The General Epistles (writings of Paul with another hard prof!)
Business Law (hard prof)
College Algebra :) (Which I'm SO looking forward to! I love math :))
Christian Life, Faith & Ministry (a general ed Bible class that APU requires. this class I'm taking three weekends out of the year. I have read about the format and the professor and class has great reviews, so I thought, "why not?")

Church has been going amazingly awesome. That is going to be one of the hard things about not being home. I LOVE church! Especially with all the new and exciting things going on :) BUT even though I'm away, I still will be home a few weekends:

Sept 13th: for Evie's birthday
October 10th: to hear Jeremiah Aja speak for the revival weekend & to celebrate my bday with the Fam!
Nov Thanksgiving: to eat Barbie's WONDERFUL food!!
Dec 10: Semester's over!

Alrightie, off to clean my chaotic room! Boxes and luggage have exploded! :)

Love,
Paige

End of July

Can't believe in a few days it will be August 1st! July has been a great month. I spent the family week in San Diego for Dad's ordination, had two weeks home, and this Friday will roll out with Brooke, Josh, and Evie bug to go meet Mom and Dad in San Diego for vacation! I'm SO ready for that! We've all been so busy this summer, it will be nice to be together.

After San Diego I have a week of packing and hanging out until I move back to school Monday the 18th! So crazy!! I feel like it's far away but know it's in 2 1/2 weeks. I end work on Thursday and am really ready from a break from that crazy schedule too!!

It's going to be harder than I thought to leave home. I get so comfortable in one spot then have to pick up and move! But it's all worth it :)

The pictures are from various events since San Diego. The crazy pictures with face paint and fun hair are from a night when I had some of the youth group girls over for a sleep over, then TPing our new pastor's house, the Moores, to "welcome" them:) Other pictures are from a wedding of my best friend Sarah's older brother, Kyle, and his beautiful bride, Kristen. It was such a classy wedding! Loved it. Oh, and a few are thrown in from our trip to the capitol with Brennan (new youth pastor) and his fiance, Amy.

:)

First week in August I'll be in San Diego again with the imediate family
