Arizona Weekend & Internship

Hola familia y amigos!

I had a wonderful weekend in Prescott, Arizona with Holly and Kalie! It was so great being in a cold town because hearing Christmas music in LA just doesn't feel right! Here are a few pics from our time :)

An exciting thing is that I received an Internship position with the Governance department with World Vision International!!

World Vision International is a Christian non-profit organization that helps people in need, such as sponsoring Children around the world, disaster relief, etc. etc. and through all of this sharing the love of Christ!

I will be working with Governance, which is the department that assesses and evaluates each World Vision office around the world. The department will go into an office and see how it is lining up with the missions statement, how successful it is, etc. I will be organizing this information, doing administrative/data work, marketing, budget reconciliation, and other projects like that. I start in January and have my first formal meeting next Wednesday.

Tonight I go to the Aarons and tomorrow (Wednesday) we leave for the desert! I'll be out of communication until Sunday.

Have to pay attention to class!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Well it's ALMOST that time! For now I still have papers, tests, deadlines, etc! But I'm surviving and doing well :)
Luckily Jeremy is well and no longer has the Swine Flu! It was sad he had to be quarantined for a week at home and it was soooo good when he came back to APU! We had a pretty relaxing weekend and got to spend some time together, watch some movies, and just not be distracted by homework! Unfortunately, he is having the busiest week ever since he was out for a week. I'm ready for this semester to be OVER and us to have "normal" lives!

Here are some fun upcoming events:

-A week and a half: Thanksgiving Break! Going to the desert with the Aaron family! Excited about that!!!
-Three weeks after that the semester is over!!!!
-Dec 19 Barbie and I go to Disneyland for her BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
-Dec 20 we drive back to Sac!
-Dec 25 Christmas!
-Dec 26-31 Youth Convention in Denver, CO. Jeremy is coming! Mom, Brooke and I are speaking in two seminars to the girls. Woo hoo!
-January 12- First day of school for 2nd semester!

And that's my life for the next two months! I'm sure there will be plenty of things to report on in between :)

With love once again from Church History,
Paige

November already!

Hello everyone!!

I am on the downhill of this semester! Praise the LORD! I'm ready to be done with this busy semester's work. Although as I approach my graduation (next December) I start slowing down and really hoping to continue to develop and deepen relationships. I have friends getting married, getting engaged, transferring schools, and it reminds me how little time we will all have in the same city!

This last weekend I had the joy of going home for Dad's birthday! It was great to be with the family, hang out with Grandma Dean (Dad's mom) who flew in for the week, and be with the kids during Halloween! :) They are so CUTE!!!! I couldn't get enough time with them. The first night Nate, Stacey and their girls, minus Mati, stopped by!
Below is Dad, Evie and Taylor made cookie dough together :) So precious!

Evie is continuing to grow, learn and becoming a little entertainer! We had a big family party for Dad's birthday and at the end of Mom's prayer she shouted out "AMEN!" like she was in a gospel church! We all got a kick out of that!
Here's her Halloween outfit as a '50s girl!
Chet is just so cute! I would describe his personality like he is just always waiting for someone to look at him and smile :) He is just so HAPPY and joyful and can't wait to make eye contact and show you that big dimple he has! :)
Here's Josh and Chet as a hotdog! Oh my gosh he was sooo cute!!! (If you recognize this, yes Evie wore this outfit two years ago:))
Halloween night we went over to the Odgers house and had a great dinner and experienced Evie trick-or-treating for the first time. She was so much fun! She would take your hand and RUN to the next house pointing and shouting "Light! Light!" because she knew the houses with lights would have candy! She didn't really end up saying "Trick or Treat" but man did she love her treats!

The kids before they went out:

The next day, Sunday, we celebrated Dad's birthday with a family party! I got to hold Hailey, Matt & Ashley's daughter who is two weeks old, for the first time. She is so beaaaaaautiful! Love her! You can see Evie likes her too :)
Here is our family photo! I love my family :) And we have three babies under 6 months! Repopulating the Jennings name!

For Dad's birthday a bunch of people chipped in to get him tickets to November 27th Nebraska vs. Colorado football game! He will be going with Uncle Randy who lives in Colorado Springs. I made the card you'll see below:

Pop up inside!

Even though this weekend was amazing, sadly Jeremy got the flu and still has it :( So he has been home and really sick this week. Hopefully his fever has gone down enough so I can see him tonight or tomorrow!

That's about it! Homework. Tests. Essays. Classes. School. Friends. Roommate. Dgroup. Spare time? :)

With love from Church History to 1517 listening to a lecture on Augustine,
(by the way, did you know he was a pastor when he wrote his big works? Interesting fact of the day. See mom, I'm learning! ...Fine I'll get off Facebook...) :)

The next weekend I will be going home for Dad's birthday!! Excited to be home to see the kids for Halloween and celebrate with dad for his birthday! :) Grandma Dean is coming too!!!

This week marks the half way mark through the semester! I am registering for classes next week and am excited to have a much easier semester! I can't believe it will be Jeremy's last semester at APU! Funny how this time has just flown by... Just was looking through pictures from orientation.

1 Year Anniversary!!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary, Jeremy!!!!

written Sunday night:
Hello everyone :)

Today Jeremy and I celebrated our 1 year together! It's officially on October 12th but since we won't see each other then we thought we'd get together today. Last night we got to spend some quality time together- something we do not take for granted!!! It was so great to have a block of time just to hang out with him! We watched 50 First Dates and just caught up on life.

Today after church Jeremy surprised me with a picnic lunch in a GORGEOUS private park in San Merino (where they filmed Father of the Bride!) Side note: Corinne, my roommate, saw the FofB house and she's going to take me! And YES, anyone who comes I will take to see that same house!!! Ah I love it! Anyways, he had everything thought of from fruit to the kind of iced tea I like! And, may I say, that man had ROSE PETALS! What a perfect guy :) We spread out our blankets and ate our lunches, he played the guitar, and we just had the best time!!

Then, he told me to look in the basket and there was a little box. And all girls know: little boxes contain big things!!!! :) I opened it up and there was the most beautiful diamond necklace. It's a timeless (I think) necklace where the diamonds go small to big, symbolizing the start of where you are and the future to come. How SWEET! Ah, my heart melted. :) :)

It was a great gift, great time, and even greater company! I love him!!!!

I won't get too mushy gushy for you all :)

So, to Jeremy: Happy 1 Year! Can't wait for many more to come!!

With love from my living room couch,
Paige

...AND THEN (Monday)

I woke up to the most beautiful roses!!!!!!!! 2 dozen pink roses and the most thoughtful card! This man has gone above and beyond!!!!!

20th Birthday Weekend!!

Hello All!

I had such a great birthday weekend! Thank you for the encouragements, cards, gifts, etc! :)

On Friday Jeremy and I headed to Sacramento. It was a great time to drive with him and talk. Since we're so busy in school it was a great break! I was pretty much freezing the whole drive. He was hot. Lol!
Here's the GPS system Jeremy got me for my birthday!!!! We made good use of "Carmen" the Garmin!
That night we pulled up and everyone was outside! It was so fun seeing the kids after 5 weeks! And man, have they changed!! I wouldn't have even recognized Chet! He's lightened up and a little more bald :) Ha! Oh man is he cute though!!! And Evie was a lot less shy and really talkative! She LOVES to repeat things, help you do things, and is now just chattin' away... sometimes in her own language!

That night we got to go see Mati's volleyball game!! It was a fun time and she played so great!!
Kisses for baby Chet!! Oh my goodness is he not the cutest little boy!??
We all hung out that night, ate pizza, and it was great catching up! Saturday morning we all went to family breakfast at Barb's house!! Nate, Stacey and the girls were there, Robb, Ashley and in her belly Hailey, Brooke, Josh and the kids. So great to spend time with everyone! It's never enough time though.

I got to hold baby Taryn for the first time!! She's 5 weeks old. (Stacey and Nate's daughter)
Then I went and got a haircut by the wonderful Kelli Moore, came back and "watched" football, went to the park to see Evie play now that she's a big girl and can do all the things on her own :) and just hung! That night we went to dinner at Outback- my favorite birthday spot :) After the 3 hour dinner (odd service), we headed back to the house opened presents, ate cake, and played games!

Here's our "family" portrait! Lol! :)
Evie calls Jeremy either "Jer Me" or "Mer A Me" SO CUTE!!!!
Chet doesn't say much. :)
Dad and Chet!
Live by the phrase "bald is beautiful"!

Sunday morning we went to breakfast with Dad, hit the spa, and then went to church. After church we went to Jacks Urban Eats (another favorite spot!) and then hit the road about 2. Sad leaving family always! It was a great visit. :) Thank you family for making it such a great time!!

When we got home my door had a note on it and my roommate Corinne had put spoons all over the decorated house with encouragements attached to them. Ok, weird I know, but I really like spoons. I'm sure my mother is rolling her eyes at this! Ok so I have a slight problem with spoons! I like them!! Big ones. Melon scooper spoons. I used to eat cereal with all different types of serving spoons. And for by birthday, among other things, she got me spoons :)
And that's that! Now I'm back to school! Busy as usual. Hopefully Jeremy and I can make some time to hang out!! We have our one year next week on the 12th. Funny how quickly time flies by!

With love from my Church History class :) (Don't worry Mom, I'm paying attention too:))
